-wtf-
I've been here at the Mercedes dealership for 2 and a half hours. That's a long, long time in Jyll-land.

Here's something that made me blink:

Me: So, what exactly is taking so long and why have I been here so long without you so much as touching the car, when I had an appointment.

Annoying service tart: Well, they were working on it, but then they had to take it out of the garage because they needed to start on something else.

Me: *raises eyebrows* So, how much longer will it be?

AST: Not much longer, about 15 minutes.

--About 10 minutes later---

AST: Umm, there's a problem with the oil filter, they have to go to Bavaria to get it.

Me: I am not waiting for a part to come from Germany.

AST: I didn't say anything about Germany.

Me: *sighs internally* No, you didn't. *waits*

AST: Well, you'll only need to wait a few more minutes.

Me: Exactly how long?

AST: Err...30 minutes.

Me: *starts grinding teeth*

Why must it be so very difficult to get people to change oil in this car? I went to a slew of oil places and discovered no one but the dealership will touch it. Aaaarrrrgghhh.

I have to remind myself that I just seem to attract the dumb people, that not all people are dumb.

Yeah, it was my grandfather's. He willed it to my dad when he died and I've been driving it the last few months.

And, yes...it is waaaaay more hassle than it's worth.

My boss got rid of his Mercedes because he could only get it serviced by them and they took forever to order parts from Germany, plus the parts were always way expensive compared to the same parts for an American made car. My parents had a similar hassle with their Passat by Volkswagon, which is one reason they now drive a Chrysler.

I have no patience to wait. I just drop my car off before work and hope it's done by the end of the day. Good luck!

I used to have a really old BMW and at least the BMW people were nice to me.

Ach, I can't wait to have no car at all. :-/
