Tom and I are not sleepy.

This is okay, we have nothing to wake up at the crack-of for.

We've been eating corn chips with the lovely cheese we bought Friday afternoon.

I have to urge you, nay beg you, to shop at the cheesemonger's on Rosemount* if you live in Aberdeen.

If there weren't about 50 other reasons (and 50 other wonderful cheeses), they carry a cheese called Brucoly that is made in Aberdeenshire. It's a mellow yet kick-ass cheese...hard to the point of parmesan, but backing off just enough to make it okay for sandwiches.

The bit we got on Friday is a special batch made with cumin seeds in. Ah, how lovely. :)

Support** the Aberdeenshire cheese makers! Mmm...cheese.

*They are part of this group, though the website does not reflect this. I'm guessing it's not been updated in a while.
**While I'm plugging places, we discovered that there is a sushi place in the Aberdeen Market. And they'll do custom rolls if they have the ingredients. It's reasonably priced and scrumptious. Go. Go now. (Well, not now...but when they're open.)

I'm so jealous. Finding good cheese is almost impossible here.

We have a new Earth Fare market where the old Food Lion was in Arden (near the Blockbuster there). They have many lovely cheeses there also, including several local cheeses, one of which is a Panella which is very! good melted over corn chips. It's the closest to a real Mexican I have found in the US. Speaking of the US, happy Independence Day. As hot as it is here at this time of year, the founding fathers probably declared independence just to get out of Liberty hall!

Ah...I saw they were putting an Earth Fare in there before we left & was wishing I could indulge in it's goodies when it'd first open. I'll just have to hit it up when we visit at Christmas. :-) Speaking of cheeses...I know relatively nothing about cheese, except that I like eating it & don't like brie cheese. I think it's the smell that ruins the taste for me. But anyways...if you ever have nothing to do but give me a list of good cheese for different types of eating/food I'd be a happy camper. I'll be a happy camper anyway, but you know what I mean. :-)
