Sewing godmother

needle and thread

I was re-united with my vintage really old sewing machine while home. Seriously. 1952 model. I don't think I'd even begin to know how to use a newer one. My paternal grandmother gave me the machine and I've used it tons.

So, my goddaughter doesn't use a dummy/pacifier. She has a thing for the corner of her polarfleece blanket. Unfortunately, hauling a 3' x 4' blanket around is either too big or too hot to be useful.

I bought a yard of polarfleece while home and made up mini-blankets for her to use as comforters. In the inimitable way of babies, she'll probably have nothing to do with them, but at least they were fun to make. :)

Aww, what a cute idea! Hopefully she will actually use them, haha. Kids are funny about their blankets though... when my sister was little she had a set of 3 identical receiving blankets, yet there was one in particular that she would not be separated from. How she could tell it apart from the others before it became old and ragged I'll never know.

Is it too much to get the sewing machine over to 'Doom?

It's not too much, possibly. I just didn't have room for it this time because I was bringing back my Gram's wedding dress to have altered.

Oooo... you decided to wear your gram's wedding dress? Very cool. May we see a photo?

Possibly. I'd like to get it cleaned first. :)

That is so sweet! :-) I dare say there isn't anything you don't do exceptionally well!

Pshaw. You know most of the things I don't do well.

(The first thing that comes to mind is 'lose gracefully at Phase 10'. :D )

haha Nonsense! But I have noticed that I can't get anyone to play Phase 10 with me anymore! :-(
