Not just any cake...a Sachertorte
I first had this cake in Vienna at the Hotel Sacher. A small piece costs about €10.
But, oh...it is so worth it.
bought me a cook book on Monday, I figured that I'd start out with a bang.
The cake is made from tons of chocolate with a layer of apricot jam in the middle and soaked in a citrus rum sauce and iced with tempered chocolate. ybunny
is very good a tempering chocolate, unsurprisingly.
We made the Sachertorte for a late birthday cake for our friend C, who is my goddaughter's mother.
We're going to surprise her with it tomorrow (well, unless neepheid
is feeling Grinch-like and spoils the surprise!).
