life preserver
I'm curious, help me out.

About a week and some ago, I put a ClustrMap on my blog.

Who's ISP is in
-India?
-Australia?
-Japan?
-Russia?
-Finland?
-Sweden?
-the Azores (if that's what that dot is for)?

I think I know where the rest are from.

Curiosity killed the cat and all that, but if you think you are one of those red dots, drop a comment, won't you? :)

I am none of the above. But I do wish you a happy birthday!

That is pretty cool. Unfortunately you know which dot I can claim. ;)

I think your north Atlantic dot is Bermuda--the Azores are a lot closer to Africa/Portugal. It may actually be a question of trans-atlantic routing...

And happy birthday. :)

Ah, yes. That's what Tom thought as well, but I was stubborn and put the Azores. I'll edit. :)

There is no precise way to say where a particular IP address comes from, it's just a guess-timate based on what data they can get hold of. And even if you can work it out, there are some people using various ways to connect via a machine which is somewhere different from where they are.
