I have really bad days. Today is one of those. I'm +/- mentally, but I'm exhausted in that special hypothyroid way.

I have two more posts that I must make soon.
1) Colloquium
2) King's Chapel pictures

Hopefully that will happen this evening, not sure.

Yesterday, Dr. W was away for both services at King's.

For the ecumenical service, we had Dr. M directing and Dr. J on the organ.
Dr. M is much more condescending, not in a totally irritating way, but I'm glad I don't sing under him on a regular basis.

We did Walton's 'Set Me As a Seal' for the anthem and something Dr. W had written for the introit. The Walton faltered about 12 measures in, but managed to pick itself back up. I doubt the congregation noticed as it is quite modern sounding compared to a lot of things we do.

The choir bitched about the dismissal (we do a polyphonic Amen and then a Gregorian 'Ite Missa Est' with English words) which is 'de Angelis' at the moment. Dr. J set it to the key in the Liber Cantualis and they were peeved that it was higher than they're used to. Suck it up, people.

For the Mass, it looked like it might be just Dr. J and myself in the schola, but two others showed up about 7 minutes before Mass started. They bowed out of doing the sequence 'Lauda Sion' with us, unsurprisingly.

The normal routine was interrupted for a confession of faith after the creed and then a burst of Christus vincit, Christus regnant, Christus imperant from us. Nice change of pace.

Dr. J and I did 'Jesu Dulcis Memoria' for the communion music. I love the tune of that, and if I say so myself, our voices blend nicely.

I'm stoked that clairdeluney came along to hear me sing...she's the first person I know that's come along for the service. :)

I got back after and did some quick chores and then fell into bed. Someone called about 11:30p, but I was so groggy that I couldn't make it to the phone before they hung up. Oh, well.
