| I'm late. Oh, yes. But, I'm going to post anyway since I never know what day it is anymore anyway.
As part of our farm delivery last week, we were given three British cooking apples. I decided to make apple turnovers from them. But, I wanted them to be a bit different. Instead of just stirring some apples together, I made applesauce from the cooking apples and poured it over dice of Braeburns before baking the turnovers.
If you can get some cooking apples, I highly suggest making a bit of applesauce.
Jyll's Quick Applesauce
3 cooking apples, peeled and sliced 2 Tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon ginger 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Place the butter and sliced apples in a saucepan and turn the heat onto medium-low. Stir occasionally until the apples begin to fall apart, about 4 minutes. Add the ginger and cinnamon. Serve.
It's delicious, and even better, very quick. |
