book
You know...I got shamed a lot in grade school, high school, even college...for one 'bad' habit.

I don't pay attention in class. So, I decided to turn over a new leaf. I'm going to pay attention. But you know what? It's a load of crap.

I have a B, a B, and an A. Point, smack, hate...do what you want to do...but I'm an A only girl. So, I'm pissed.

You know what...yesterday, I said 'screw it' I'm doing what I want. And, voila! I listened to the whole lecture, understood it...yet paid attention to none of it. And I finished my Arabic homework during it as well. I think this is my study style.

So any teachers out there...don't like it...stuff it. I'm paying...I'll do what I want.

We all have different learning styles. The problem is that teachers don't always recognize that. I suffered with that problem in elementary school. I spent a lot of time doodling and writing notes to my best friend because I was bored out of my mind. I'd already done all the work. My 6th grade teacher couldn't accept that I could do division without long division and nearly flunked me in math. I did it all in my head. (This was due to the fact that we learned long division in 5th grade when I was in Ireland learning to do it in my head.) Finally the student teacher convinced her that I was getting the right answer just not in the acceptable way.

I think it depends on how our brains compartmentalize. I was always able to learn stuff while doing other stuff, like writing naughty stories. :)
